Mission Statement

Team Pick Me Up is a non-profit that works with content creator communities to provide income assistance, for families in a time of crisis due to a death or unforeseen medical conditions, that create a financial hardship.

February Pick Me Up Whootdini

My dad was diagnosed with bladder cancer a year after I moved 770 miles away from him and my hometown. He went through treatments and ultimately surgery to have his bladder and prostate removed. He was declared cancer-free! However in December 2019, he was starting to have some pains in his left leg/ankle area and his lower back. Not thinking it was cancer, he started going to a chiropractor and physical therapy to help with his pain. Then covid hit and due to covid, he hadn't gone to get his semi-annual PET scan. Turns out the cancer had come back, and with vengeance. After visiting home in June 2021, I realized my dad was having a hard time getting around his house due to his pain (and the steps). So I convinced him to move out here with me and my family (hubby and three kids), so that we could help take care of him while he continued his treatment - fully expecting my dad to get better and go home after a few months. Well a few months turned into 6, and he did not end up going home. While I was happy he was here and we could help him during all of this, it was THE hardest thing I've ever had to do - watch my father die slowly and while in significant pain. One of my streamer friends must have noticed how this was truly affecting me (despite trying to keep a smile on my face) and put my name in for the Pick Me Up program. I can't tell you how much it meant to me to know that someone could see that I needed what I consider to be a HUGE bear hug from a bunch of my friends. It lifted my spirits so much and ultimately helped me through my father passing in February. I couldn't be more grateful for this program

March Pick Me Up VodkaPanda

My name is vodka panda and I was recently out of work for 3 weeks due to a bad case of influenza B I wasn't able to pay my rent that month From low oxygen at 93 To Overall feeling like death To say the least it was rough Had no energy to get out of bed most days But luckily out of nowhere selfless gaming's community came together and started a pickup program that I was unaware of and together they were able to help me pay what was left of my rent I am truly blessed to have these Friends in this community I am currently back to work feeling good Thank you again selfless for you and your humble community.

April Pick Me Up LuckyCharmz73

LuckyCharmz73 was nominated to Team Pick Me Up by Snipey_Wifey. LuckyCharmz73 was previously a business owner that had been affected by the COVID-19 Pandemic. During this time she had to close her business, and dedicated her time to being a stay at home mother and supporting her husband and son. Streaming became a way for LuckyCharmz73 to meet new people, grow her community, and help support her family. In April Lucky had lost her husband unexpectedly and her world was turned upside down. Snipey_Wifey had informed Team Pick Me Up of her situation and Team Pick Me Up was able to raise $1,500 dollars to help with any expenses or setbacks LuckyCharmz73 and her son had experienced.

May Pick Me Up's QueenDori, SaVG_Pho3nix

QueenDori and SaVG_Pho3nix were both recommended to Team Pick Me UP because of their current medical issues. Both had some medical issues come up that had required them to miss some significant time off work. With time off work and falling behind in monthly expenses Team Pick Me Up was able to provide some assistance to both of them. Team Pick Me Up was able to raise $750 dollars in 2 weeks to help both of these people out before the end of the month.

June Pick Me Up Asilynn_Gaming and Irish_Nord_Gaming

Asilynn_Gaming and Irish_Nord_Gaming we nominated Lolabiotic. Irish is a disabled military veteran and is not able to work. His wife Asilynn had a long extended time period off work because of medical issues that had taken place. With her off work and Irish being disabled they had started to fall behind on expenses. During this time there rent had been increased and time was running short. Team Pick Me Up was able to raise $801 to help this family with monthly expenses.

July & August Pick Me Up WillowLurkQueen and HeyYoAL4

HeyYoAl4 has a 15-year-old son who has undergone his 5th surgery to remove a brain tumor. The progress has been long and financially straining for this family. They have had to travel a lot of medical care, surgeries, and exams.

WillowLurkQueen has been diagnosed with a rare brain condition that cause lesions to form on her brain. This affects her short-term memory tremendously. She is a single mother of 4.

Team Pick Me Up was able to raise over $3,600 dollars that was split between both families. This allowed both families to receive a little over $1,800 dollars each!

October Pick Me Up NativePride38

NativePride has had two family members that were in the hospital for a long period of time. Both family members were not able to overcome their battles while in the hospital. During this time TeamPickMeUp was able to raise $580.14 for the families medical and funeral cost.

November Pick Me Up Veterans Month!

This month everything raised will be going to some of veterans. This money raised will be going to help cover some of the medical cost that the VA does not pick up. In honor of there service and time dedicated to protecting us. We are paying it forward to help these veterans in need.

January 2023 Pick Me Up

The year 2023 has started off amazing for Team Pick me Up! We were able to raise $686.45 for AmazonAzure and her child. They have a new born child that has special needs and has recently had to have heart surgery already. There have been extensive stays in the hospital and lots of therapy sessions. Thank you all for your support to help this family get back in the right direction!

February 2023 Pick Me Up

For the month of February we are looking to support a disabled veteran! They have become 100% disabled and require at home care from an injury they acquired from there time in service. This transition has required there wife to go part time to support at home care. As they continue to wait for VA approval they have fallen behind on bills. Any support we can offer this service member would be a huge benefit to this family.

March 2023 Pick Me Up

For the month of March we were able to raise $560.31 for a family who has a parent going through Cancer treatment right now. During the treatment therapies the mother took a fall and broke her femur. The son has had to stop working and be a full time aid to his mother. Thank you to everyone that has shown support to this family in a major time of need.

April 2023 Pick Me Up

Marianne & Richie Wray

Marianne went into premature labor! Doctors have ordered this her to be on bed rest, and is was put on a daily dose of medication to slow the birth of their 27 week old child. This family had long hospital stays. Husband had to travel long distances to take care of the family and her while being in the hospital. To all that have continued to help we greatly appreciate you! We helped raise over $900 for Marianne and Richie Wray. Thank you all once again!

A parent has recently had their son end up in a significant car accident. This accident has lead to multiple surgeries, travel expenses and long stays for the mother. The son is now on a journey of physical therapy and learning to walk and function like they previously had. We were able to raise over $500 dollars for this family and their son! Thank you all to continue to help and support these people in a time of need.

We have multiple people needing assistance for our Pick Me Up Program!

First we have a mother with a new born child that has had long hospital stays do to birth defects.

The second is a a mother whose daughter is currently in a coma due to Covid and having MS. The mother is trying to help with bills and her two year old granddaughter while her daughter awaits a lung transplant!

Third is a mother that has been out of work do to an injury sustained to their back. They have bills coming up and kids to feed and have not been able to return to work!
